This book is about the normal environment and how humans affect it by causing such disasters as climate change and deforestation. There are six chapters dealing with disease categorized into the following causative agents: Bacterial infections, Rickettsial infections, Viral infections, Parasitic infections, Fungal and Protozoan infections, and other arthropod-borne and non micro organismal conditions. These chapters are followed by a chapter about solutions and an epilogue. Solutions include solarize the planet, implementation of the earth charter, getting rid of fossil fuels as well as controlling overpopulation. There is an epilogue which warns the planet that if we don’t act now to stem the tide of environmental destruction, the world is doomed.
